The Ames 2000B Double Check Valve Assembly is a bronze bodied, single cover device. It began production in 1997 when the Watts company purchased the Ames company and retagged the Watts 007 with the 2000B tag. There are slight differences in the outside of the device but inside is identical to the Watts 007 and uses the same repair parts. It utilizes a inline check design with a single access cover. Plastic check modules are self contained and are held in place by a retainer directly under the cover. The check modules come apart for service with a quarter turn to the module. No special tools are required for servicing. Over the years, Ames has redesigned the devices slightly. They call these changes "modifications." You will notice devices tagged with 2000B, 2000BM1, 2000BM2, and 2000BM3. The "M" stands for modification and although the appearance is very similar on all these valves, their parts are very different, so be sure of your valve before ordering.
