This is a closure sleeve O-Ring for the 2 1/2 - 3" Ames Maxim Series, & 2 1/2 - 4" Colt series backflow preventers. This O-Ring rides between the body and sliding cover. There are two of these O-Rings per valve. The device must be removed from service to change this O-Ring. No special tools are required for service.
