Description

This Watts Series 009 1 1/2 inch Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ) Assembly Backflow Preventer is designed to protect potable water supplies from pollution due to backsiphonage and backpressure. It features durable bronze body construction, 1 1/2 inch NPT connections, and quarter-turn ball valve shutoffs. A key feature is the integrated SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor, which detects excessive relief valve discharges and can provide alerts when paired with an add-on connection kit. The compact, modular design allows for easy maintenance with a single access cover and replaceable check seats. It is suitable for continuous pressure piping applications up to 175 PSI and temperatures from 33°F to 180°F.

Connections

  • This Watts Series 009 backflow preventer is equipped with 1 1/2 inch NPT inlet and outlet connections.
  • Ensure compatibility with existing plumbing that has 1 1/2 inch male NPT threads.

Flood Sensor Activation

  • The integrated SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor requires an add-on connection kit for activation and communication.
  • Without a connection kit, the sensor operates as a passive component with no external communication.
  • Connection kit options include systems for BMS (Building Management Systems), cellular communication, or the Sensor Control Monitor for integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform via Wi-Fi.
