FAQs

What is the primary function of the FEBCO LF850 Small Double Check Valve Assembly?

This assembly is designed to prevent the backflow of polluted water into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage or backpressure. It is intended for non-health hazard applications in continuous pressure piping.

What does 'Lead Free' construction imply for this backflow preventer?

The 'Lead Free' construction means that the wetted surfaces of the product, which come into contact with consumable water, contain less than 0.25% lead by weight. This complies with current Lead Free installation requirements and standards.

How does the included freeze sensor operate?

The freeze sensor monitors the ambient temperature around the assembly and is designed to alert facility personnel when temperatures approach or reach freezing conditions. To activate its communication features via Wi-Fi, BMS, or IMS, an add-on connection kit is required and sold separately.

What are the pressure and temperature limits for this 1 1/4 inch valve?

This 1 1/4 inch valve has a maximum working pressure of 175 psi (12.1 bar) and a hydrostatic test pressure of 350 psi (24.1 bar). Its operating temperature range is 32°F to 140°F (0°C to 60°C).

Is maintenance easy for this double check valve assembly?

Yes, this assembly features a compact modular design that facilitates easy in-line maintenance. It includes a single access cover and replaceable seats and seat discs, simplifying repairs and prolonging product life.
