Additional Details

This 1 inch atmospheric vacuum breaker backflow preventer, part of the FEBCO Series 710, provides positive protection against the backsiphonage of impure water into the main supply system, crucial in the event of pressure loss causing vacuum conditions.

Primary Applications

  • Hose bibbs
  • Chemical vats
  • X-ray tanks
  • Turf irrigation systems
  • Laboratory sinks

Features

  • Durable bronze body construction
  • Lightweight plastic poppets
  • Resilient rubber poppet discs designed for positive closure
  • Designed for cold water applications
  • Simple service procedures, with internal parts serviceable in-line from the top
  • Meets all specifications of ASSE
  • Documented flow curves established by The Twining Labs, Inc.
  • End Connections: Female NPT ANSI/ASME B1.20.1

Operation

When the unit is pressurized, a poppet seals the air inlet. During a backsiphonage event, the poppet drops to allow air to enter the downstream piping while simultaneously shielding the water inlet from foreign materials. Upon restoration of pressure, the poppet lifts to seal the air inlet once more.
