FAQs
What is a Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ) backflow preventer assembly?
An RPZ assembly is a type of backflow prevention device designed to protect potable water supplies from contamination due to backsiphonage and backpressure. It creates a zone of reduced pressure to prevent polluted water from flowing back into the clean supply.
What does "Lead Free" construction mean for this product?
“Lead Free” indicates that the wetted surfaces of this product, those in contact with consumable water, contain less than 0.25% of lead by weight. This complies with modern plumbing codes for safe drinking water systems.
How does the flood sensor feature work on this backflow preventer?
The integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology detects excessive water discharge from the relief valve. To activate its alert capabilities and enable communication, an add-on sensor connection kit must be purchased separately.
What are the primary applications for this 1-inch RPZ backflow preventer?
This assembly is ideal for preventing health hazard cross-connections in piping systems, containment at service line entrances, irrigation systems, and boiler feed lines. It provides maximum protection for potable water supplies.
What type of connections does this backflow preventer assembly have?
This 1-inch backflow preventer assembly features NPT (National Pipe Taper) inlet and outlet connections, allowing for secure and standard threaded pipe installations.
