Flood Sensor Activation & Monitoring

  • The integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology requires an add-on connection kit to be fully activated. Without this kit, the sensor remains a passive component and cannot communicate or relay alerts.
  • Connection kit options provide various communication methods, including:
    • BMS (Building Management System) integration
    • Cellular communication for remote alerts
    • The Sensor Control Monitor, enabling integration with BAS (Building Automation Systems) via RS‑485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.
  • Retrofit sensor connection kits are also available for existing installations.

Additional Details

This Colt™ 10 inch stainless steel reduced pressure zone backflow preventer assembly is designed to prevent the reverse flow of contaminated water into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage or backpressure. It features an extremely compact design, making it 70% lighter than traditional designs, and is approved for horizontal installation.

The assembly includes a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve, capable of relaying signals for multichannel alerts (call, email, text) to notify personnel of potential flooding.

Features

  • Extremely compact design, approximately 70% lighter than traditional models
  • Constructed with Type 304 (Schedule 40) stainless steel housing and sleeve
  • Equipped with groove fittings for integral pipeline adjustment and ease of installation
  • Features patented link check modules for lowest pressure loss and unmatched ease of serviceability
  • Includes domestic non-rising stem (NRS) gate valves with resilient seats
  • Designed for horizontal installation
  • Incorporates a corrosive resistant stainless steel bottom-mounted pressure relief valve with a sensor for flood detection
  • Flood alert feature is activated with an add-on sensor connection kit
  • The wetted surface of this product contacted by consumable water contains less than 0.25% of lead by weight, complying with Lead Free* installation requirements.

NOTICE: An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without the connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component and will not communicate with any other device. Use of the flood sensor does not replace the need to comply with all required instructions, codes, and regulations related to installation, operation, and maintenance of this product, including the need to provide proper drainage in the event of a discharge.
