Additional Details
This Colt™ 10 inch stainless steel reduced pressure zone backflow preventer assembly is engineered to safeguard potable water supplies by preventing the reverse flow of contaminated water due to backsiphonage or backpressure.
Primary Function & Design
- Designed to prevent the reverse flow of contaminated water into the potable water supply.
- Extremely compact and lighter than traditional backflow preventer designs.
- Approved for horizontal installation, aligning with flow direction.
- Constructed with a stainless steel body, quick access sleeve, torsion spring check valves, resilient seated gate valves with non-rising stem, and corrosive-resistant stainless steel bottom mounted pressure relief valve.
Flood Detection & Monitoring
- Includes a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve.
- When paired with an add-on connection kit, the sensor activates to relay alerts for potential flooding events.
- Connection kit options include BMS, cellular communication, or the Sensor Control Monitor for integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.
- An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor's full alert capabilities. Without the connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component and will not communicate with any smart devices.
Features
- Extremely compact design.
- 77% lighter than traditional designs.
- Type 304 (Schedule 40) stainless steel housing and sleeve.
- Groove couplings for easy installation and pipe alignment.
- Patent-link check modules for lower pressure loss.
- Unmatched ease of serviceability.
- Available with grooved butterfly or gate shutoffs.
- Configurable for horizontal, N-pattern, and Z-pattern installation.
- Reversible check disc rubber.
- Sensor on relief valve for flood detection.
- Flood alert feature activated with add-on sensor connection kit.
- Includes an integrated supervisory switch as an option on each gate valve of the OS&Y model.
