Description

This 10 inch Lead Free Double Check Valve Backflow Preventer Assembly with NRS shutoffs is designed to prevent the reverse flow of polluted water into potable water systems. Ideal for non-health hazard continuous pressure piping applications, it features an epoxy coated cast iron body with ArmorTek® coating for superior corrosion resistance. Integrated pressure-sensing test cocks allow for performance monitoring when activated with an add-on kit. Its modular design simplifies maintenance, ensuring reliable protection against backsiphonage and backpressure.

Help Me Connect

This 10 inch Lead Free Double Check Valve Assembly is designed for non-health hazard installations where approved by local authorities. It prevents the reverse flow of polluted water into the potable water supply in continuous pressure piping applications.

Monitoring Connection

  • The integrated pressure sensors on this IOT model require an add-on monitoring connection kit (sold separately) to collect and transmit data.
  • The connection kit communicates via wired serial (RS-485) interface and is compatible with most Building Management Systems (BMS) and Building Automation Systems (BAS).

Always inquire with governing authorities for local installation requirements to ensure compliance.

Additional Details

This 10 inch lead free double check valve backflow preventer assembly is designed to prevent the reverse flow of polluted water from entering into the potable water system. It is ideal for continuous pressure piping applications and cross-connections identified as non-health hazards, where approved by the local authority having jurisdiction.

Advanced Protection & Monitoring

  • Features ArmorTek® coating technology, a patented three-part advanced epoxy system, engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrate.
  • Equipped with Smart and Connected technology, including sensors integrated at test cocks No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 to measure pressure fluctuations.
  • An add-on monitoring connection kit (sold separately) is required to activate these sensors and transmit data to a Building Management System (BMS/BAS), enabling monitoring and assessment of backflow assembly performance.
  • The integrated pressure sensors and monitoring connection kit do not replace compliance with all required instructions, codes, and regulations for backflow preventer installation, operation, and maintenance.

Design & Maintenance

  • Utilizes a simplified modular design concept with a center stem guide to facilitate complete maintenance and assembly.
  • Features replaceable stainless steel seats and captured spring assemblies for safety.
  • Designed for maximum flow at low pressure drop.
  • Approved for vertical flow up installation.

FAQs

What is the primary purpose of this 10 inch backflow preventer?

This assembly is designed to prevent the reverse flow of polluted water from non-potable sources into the potable water supply, protecting against backsiphonage and backpressure in non-health hazard installations.

What does "Lead Free" mean for this product?

"Lead Free" indicates that the wetted surfaces of this product, which come into contact with consumable water, contain less than 0.25% lead by weight, complying with Lead Free installation requirements.

How do the integrated pressure sensors work?

The assembly includes sensors at test cocks No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 to measure pressure fluctuations. To collect and transmit this data to a Building Management System (BMS/BAS), an add-on monitoring connection kit (sold separately) is required.

What are the key maintenance features of this backflow preventer?

It features a simplified modular design concept for easy assembly and maintenance, replaceable stainless steel seats, and captured spring assemblies for enhanced safety during servicing. No special tools are required.

What type of corrosion protection does this assembly offer?

The iron components are coated with ArmorTek®, a patented three-part advanced epoxy system. This technology is engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrate.
