FAQs

What types of cross-connections does the FEBCO LF856 protect against?

This backflow preventer is designed to protect against possible backpressure and backsiphonage conditions for non-health hazard (pollutant) applications, such as irrigation, fire lines, or industrial processing.

What is the primary use of the 10 inch LF856 double check detector assembly?

It is primarily used for the protection of drinking water systems and fire sprinkler systems where local codes mandate protection from non-potable quality water, especially when detection of unauthorized water use is required.

What is ArmorTek coating and why is it important?

ArmorTek is a patented three-part advanced epoxy system applied to the iron components of the backflow preventer. It is engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates, enhancing durability.

What is the maximum operating pressure and temperature range for this assembly?

The maximum working pressure is 175 psi (12.1 bar), and it can operate continuously within a temperature range of 33°F to 140°F (0.5°C to 60°C).

Does this backflow preventer include shutoff valves and a bypass meter?

Yes, it comes with UL Classified/FM Approved OS&Y resilient seated shutoff valves and a 5/8" x 3/4" GPM water meter in the auxiliary bypass line, which detects leaks or unauthorized water usage.
