Description
Description
The 10 inch FEBCO MasterSeries LF860 is a lead free Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ) backflow preventer assembly designed to protect potable water systems from high hazard/toxic backpressure and backsiphonage. Its ductile iron body is protected by ArmorTek® 3-part epoxy coating for superior corrosion resistance. This model comes without shutoff valves and includes a SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor to detect excessive relief valve discharge, notifying personnel when paired with an optional connection kit. Key features include stainless steel relief valve seats and check components, ensuring maximum durability and performance. It operates between 33°F and 140°F with a maximum working pressure of 175 psi.

Installation & Use
- Designed for installation on potable water supply lines at points of cross-connection to protect against high hazard/toxic backpressure and backsiphonage conditions.
- Features flanged end connections compliant to ASME B16.1 Class 125 and AWWA Class D Flange standards.
- This model is supplied without shutoff valves, allowing for integration into existing systems or selection of separate shutoff valves.
- The integrated flood sensor requires an add-on connection kit (available separately) for activation and communication of alerts to Building Management Systems (BMS) via RS-485 Modbus, cellular networks, or Wi-Fi via the Nexa® platform.

Additional Details
This 10 inch lead free MasterSeries® LF860 Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ) backflow preventer assembly is designed to protect potable water systems from backpressure and backsiphonage conditions in high hazard/toxic industrial and other applications.
This assembly is supplied without shutoff valves and incorporates a flood sensor for enhanced monitoring.
Key Features
- Lead Free construction complies with low lead installation requirements for potable water systems.
- The ductile iron body features a patented ArmorTek® 3-part advanced epoxy coating system, engineered to limit both microbial induced corrosion (MIC) and exposed metal substrate corrosion.
- Equipped with a SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor on the relief valve to detect excessive water discharges, relaying alerts for potential flooding events.
- Features stainless steel relief valve seat and stainless steel check components for maximum performance, durability, and extended valve life.
- Inline serviceable assembly design allows for maintenance without special tools.
Components
- Consists of a lead free ductile iron body, two independently acting spring-loaded check valves, and a pressure differential relief valve.
- Includes top-mounted test cocks for easy testing and maintenance.
- An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor and enable alert notifications. Without this kit, the sensor operates as a passive component.
- Use of the flood sensor does not replace the need to comply with all required instructions, codes, and regulations related to installation, operation, and maintenance of this product, including the need to provide proper drainage in the event of a discharge.

FAQs
What is the primary purpose of this backflow preventer?
This FEBCO MasterSeries LF860 Reduced Pressure Zone assembly is designed to protect potable drinking water systems from contamination due to backpressure and backsiphonage of high hazard/toxic fluids from industrial and other applications.
Does this assembly include shutoff valves?
No, this LF860-LG-FS model is supplied without shutoff valves. This configuration allows for flexibility in integrating the assembly into existing systems or selecting compatible shutoff valves separately.
How does the ArmorTek® coating benefit the backflow preventer?
The ArmorTek® 3-part advanced epoxy coating system is applied to the ductile iron body to provide integrated protection against microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and general corrosion of exposed metal surfaces, extending the product's lifespan.
What is the function of the SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor?
The SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve. When activated with an add-on connection kit, it can trigger multichannel alerts (call, email, text) to notify personnel of potential flooding.
What are the operating pressure and temperature limits for this device?
The backflow preventer has a maximum working pressure of 175 psi (12.1 bar) and operates continuously within a temperature range of 33°F to 140°F (0.5°C to 60°C).
