Installation Orientation

The FEBCO LF870V Double Check Valve Assembly supports flexible installation to meet various piping requirements.

  • Horizontal (N-pattern) installations: The assembly is designed for standard horizontal flow. This is the orientation in which the product is typically shipped.
  • Vertical up (Z-pattern) installations: The assembly can also be installed vertically with the inlet and outlet flow moving upwards.

Shutoff Valves

  • This assembly includes Domestic Non-Rising Stem (DNRS) resilient wedge gate valves, which are compliant with AWWA C509 standards. These valves control the flow of water into and out of the assembly.

FAQs

What is the primary function of the FEBCO LF870V Double Check Valve Assembly?

Its primary function is to protect potable drinking water systems from non-health hazard (pollutant) backflow caused by backpressure or backsiphonage, in accordance with local water utility codes.

Is this backflow preventer assembly lead-free?

Yes, the FEBCO LF870V features Lead Free* construction, meaning the wetted surfaces of the product that contact consumable water contain less than 0.25% of lead by weight, complying with low lead installation requirements.

What is ArmorTek® coating technology?

ArmorTek® is a patented three-part advanced epoxy system applied to the iron components of the backflow preventer. It is engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrate from electrochemical corrosion.

Can the FEBCO LF870V be installed in different orientations?

Yes, this assembly is approved for both horizontal (N-pattern) installations and vertical up (Z-pattern) installations. It ships standard in the N-pattern orientation.

What type of shutoff valves are included with this assembly?
