Description
Description
This 10 inch lead free MasterSeries double check valve backflow preventer assembly protects potable water systems from non-health hazard pollutants due to backsiphonage or backpressure. Its ductile iron body is coated with ArmorTek, an advanced epoxy system designed to resist microbial and exposed metal corrosion. Featuring non-rising stem shutoff valves and stainless steel check components, this assembly is designed for drop-in replacement in N-pattern or Z-pattern installations. It operates at a maximum working pressure of 175 psi and is suitable for temperatures from 33°F to 140°F. The assembly complies with low lead requirements and multiple industry standards including ASSE 1015, UL, and FM.

Installation & Compatibility
- This assembly is designed for drop-in replacement of competitor's valves in both N-pattern (LF870W) and Z-pattern (LF870WZ) orientations.
- It is intended for installation on the potable water supply at each point of cross-connection to protect against back-pressure and backsiphonage conditions for non-health hazard (pollutant) applications.
- The end connections are compliant with ASME B16.1 Class 125 and AWWA Class D Flange standards.

FAQs
What is the primary purpose of this 10 inch backflow preventer assembly?
This backflow preventer is designed to prevent the backflow of non-health hazard pollutants into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage or backpressure. It's ideal for non-health hazard cross-connections or service line containment.
What does 'Lead Free' mean for this product?
The 'Lead Free' designation means that the wetted surface of this product, which contacts consumable water, contains less than 0.25% of lead by weight, complying with low lead installation requirements.
What is the maximum working pressure for this 10 inch assembly?
This double check valve assembly has a maximum working pressure of 175 psi (12.1 bar), making it suitable for various potable water system applications.
Can this backflow preventer be installed in different orientations?
Yes, this assembly is designed to allow drop-in replacement in either the N-pattern (LF870W) for horizontal installations or Z-pattern (LF870WZ) for vertical up installations.
What type of corrosion protection does this assembly feature?
The iron components of this assembly are coated with ArmorTek®, a patented three-part advanced epoxy system. This technology is engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates.
