Description

This 10 inch Lead Free MasterSeries double check detector backflow preventer assembly is engineered to prevent polluted water from re-entering the potable water supply due to backpressure or backsiphonage. It is ideal for fire protection systems, offering leakage and unauthorized water usage detection via its GPM metered bypass. Constructed from durable ductile iron with ArmorTek coating for superior corrosion resistance, this assembly features a 175 psi maximum working pressure and domestic OSY shutoff valves. Its design allows for direct drop-in replacement of competitor N-pattern valves and is approved by ASSE, UL, and FM.

Help Me Connect

This 10 inch double check detector backflow preventer assembly is designed for versatility in installation and connection. It offers a longer lay-length for direct drop-in replacement of competitor’s N-pattern valves.

Installation Orientation

  • Horizontal (N-Pattern): Approved by FCCCHR-USC, ASSE, cULus, FM, IAPMO/CUPC for 4" – 10" sizes.
  • Vertical Up (Z-Pattern): Approved by FCCCHR-USC, ASSE, cULus, FM, IAPMO/CUPC for 4" – 10" sizes.

The assembly is shipped in the standard N-pattern orientation. End connections are compliant to ASME B16.1 Class 125 & AWWA Class D Flange standards.

FAQs

What is the primary function of the FEBCO MasterSeries LF876W/WZ double check detector assembly?

This assembly is designed to prevent the reverse flow of polluted water into the potable drinking water supply due to backsiphonage or backpressure conditions. It also monitors fire protection systems for leaks or unauthorized water usage.

What kind of corrosion protection does this backflow preventer offer?

The ductile iron body and other iron components are coated with ArmorTek, a patented three-part advanced epoxy system. This technology is engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal surfaces.

Can this assembly replace competitor backflow preventers?

Yes, this FEBCO MasterSeries LF876W/WZ assembly is specifically designed to provide a drop-in replacement for competitor's valves with N-pattern lay lengths.

What is the purpose of the GPM metered bypass on this backflow preventer?

The gallons per minute (GPM) metered bypass line is designed to detect potential underground water leaks within the system or unauthorized water usage, providing an important monitoring feature.

What are the approved installation orientations for this backflow preventer?

This assembly is approved for both horizontal (N-pattern) and vertical up (Z-pattern) installations. It is typically shipped in the standard N-pattern orientation.
