The Maxim™ Series M500 10 inch Reduced Pressure Detector Backflow Preventer Assembly is designed to protect drinking water supplies from dangerous cross-connections. It prevents the reverse flow of non-potable substances from fire protection systems, irrigation, or industrial processing into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage or backpressure.

This assembly also monitors unauthorized water use or underground leaks within the fire protection system, furnished with a gallon per minute meter.
