Additional Details
The 2 1/2 inch FEBCO MasterSeries LF856 Lead Free Double Check Detector Backflow Preventer Assembly (Type II) is designed to protect drinking water supplies from cross-connections.
It prevents the backflow of pollutants due to backsiphonage or backpressure that are objectionable, but not toxic, from entering potable water systems, making it ideal for non-health hazard applications such as fire sprinkler and standpipe systems, or for containment at the service line entrance to detect unauthorized water usage.
Construction & Design
- Features a ductile iron body construction with a patented 3-part advanced ArmorTek epoxy coating system to resist microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates.
- Consists of two (2) independently acting clapper style check modules with replaceable seats and disc rubbers.
- Includes UL Classified/FM Approved inlet/outlet resilient seated shutoff valves and four (4) resilient seated test cocks.
- The auxiliary bypass line contains a 5/8 inch x 3/4 inch water meter that complies with ANSI/AWWA Standard C700 and an approved check assembly to detect leaks or unauthorized water usage.
Main Valve Features
- In-line serviceable assembly with no special tools required for servicing.
- Captured modular spring assembly.
- Reversible and replaceable discs and field replaceable seats.
- Stainless steel check components.
- Winterization feature with disc retainers and valve body drain ports.
- Clapper check assembly with commonality between 1st and 2nd check components.
- Captured O-ring design.
Auxiliary Bypass Features
- Compact bypass design that remains in the main valve assembly profile.
- In-line serviceable 3/4 inch check assembly with no special tools required for servicing.
- Field replaceable seat and disc.
- Designed to detect potential underground water leaks and unauthorized water usage.
