Additional Details

This Colt 2 1/2 inch Lead Free Reduced Pressure Zone Backflow Preventer Assembly is designed to prevent the reverse flow of fire protection substances and non-potable water into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage or backpressure.

The assembly is ideal for protection in continuous pressure piping applications and at cross-connections identified as health hazards.

Construction & Features

  • Features Lead Free* construction, containing less than 0.25% lead by weight in wetted surfaces.
  • Constructed with a Type 304 (Schedule 40) stainless steel housing and sleeve for durability.
  • Includes two independent torsion spring check modules for ease of serviceability.
  • Equipped with OSY (Outside Stem and Yoke) resilient seated gate valves.
  • Designed for grooved inlet and grooved outlet connections.
  • Features a bottom-mounted pressure relief valve and required test cocks.

Flood Detection System

  • Contains a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve.
  • When paired with an add-on connection kit (sold separately), the sensor is activated to relay alerts for potential flooding events via BMS, cellular communication, or integration with BAS via RS‑485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.
  • An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without the connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component and will not communicate with any other device.
