Help Me Connect

This Watts LF007-NRS-IOT Double Check Valve Assembly is designed for installation at cross-connections where backflow of polluted (non-health hazard) water must be prevented. The assembly features non-rising stem resilient seated gate valves for isolation. It includes pressure-sensing IoT test cocks (No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4) for integrated monitoring capabilities. An add-on monitoring connection kit is required to activate these sensors and transmit data to a Building Management or Building Automation System (BMS/BAS) via a wired serial (RS-485) interface.

Additional Details

This Watts Series LF007 Lead Free Double Check Valve Assembly with 2 1/2 inch non-rising stem (NRS) shutoff and pressure-sensing IoT test cocks is designed to prevent the backflow of polluted water into the potable water supply from cross-connections identified as non-health hazards.

Its compact, modular design facilitates easy maintenance with a single access cover for in-line repairs, making it ideal for continuous pressure piping applications.

Features

  • Lead Free* cast iron body construction with ArmorTek® coating technology.
  • Patented three-part advanced epoxy system engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrate.
  • Integrated pressure-sensing test cocks (No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4) measure pressure fluctuations.
  • Smart and Connected Model IOT technology enables monitoring and assessment of certain aspects of backflow assembly performance and the water supply system when used with an add-on monitoring connection kit.
  • Modular, compact design for easier maintenance and assembly by retaining spring load.
  • Replaceable seats and seat discs.
  • Easier maintenance through a single, top-entry cover with no special tools required for servicing.
  • Low pressure drop.
  • Includes non-rising stem resilient seated gate valves and top-mounted test cocks.

An add-on monitoring connection kit is required to collect data from the pressure sensors. Without this kit, the sensors are passive and do not communicate.

FAQs

What is the primary purpose of the Watts LF007-NRS-IOT assembly?

The primary purpose is to prevent the backflow of polluted water from entering the potable water supply, specifically at cross-connections identified as non-health hazards.

What does "Lead Free" mean for this product?

The wetted surface of this product, which comes into contact with consumable water, contains less than 0.25% of lead by weight, meeting Lead Free* installation requirements.

How does the ArmorTek® coating benefit this backflow preventer?

The ArmorTek® coating is a patented three-part advanced epoxy system applied to the cast iron body. It is engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates, enhancing durability.

What are the "IoT test cocks" and how do they work?

The IoT test cocks are pressure-sensing integrated sensors at test cocks No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4. They measure pressure fluctuations and can transmit data to a building management system with an add-on monitoring connection kit. Without the kit, they are passive sensors.

What is the maximum operating pressure and temperature range for this assembly?

The maximum working pressure is 175 psi (12.1 bar). It operates continuously from 33°F to 110°F (0.5°C to 43°C), with an intermittent temperature range of 140°F (60°C).
