Connections
- This backflow preventer assembly is designed for horizontal installation in a pipeline.
- It features groove fittings which allow for integral pipeline adjustment.
- The included flood sensor requires an add-on connection kit to activate its communication capabilities with external systems like BMS, cellular networks, or the Sensor Control Monitor (for BAS via RS-485 Modbus or Nexa® platform via Wi-Fi).

Additional Details
This 2 1/2 inch Lead Free* Reduced Pressure Detector Backflow Preventer Assembly provides robust protection to the potable water system from contamination caused by backpressure or backsiphonage. Designed for horizontal installation in health hazard applications, it incorporates a flood sensor and a gallon per minute meter for comprehensive monitoring capabilities.
Features
- Features Lead Free* construction, ensuring the wetted surface contains less than 0.25% lead by weight.
- Offers an extremely compact design, making it approximately 70% lighter than traditional backflow preventer designs.
- Constructed with a 304 (Schedule 40) stainless steel housing and sleeve for durability.
- Utilizes groove fittings to allow for integral pipeline adjustment.
- Equipped with a patented torsion spring check that provides the lowest pressure loss.
- Designed for unmatched ease of serviceability with replaceable check disc rubber.
- Includes UL and FM Approved outside stem and yoke (OSY) resilient seated gate valves.
- Features a bottom mounted cast stainless steel relief valve.
Flood Sensor & Monitoring
- Comes with a flood sensor featuring SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect continuous discharge from the relief valve.
- A metered bypass includes a gallon per minute meter to detect potential leakage or unauthorized water use from the fire sprinkler system.
- An add-on sensor connection kit allows the flood alert feature to be activated, offering compatibility with Building Management Systems (BMS) and cellular network communication.
- The Sensor Control Monitor (optional add-on) enables integration with Building Automation Systems (BAS) via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi connectivity.
An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor's communication capabilities. Without this kit, the sensor operates as a passive component with no external communication.
Use of the flood sensor does not replace the need to comply with all required instructions, codes, and regulations related to installation, operation, and maintenance of this product, including the necessity of providing proper drainage in the event of a discharge.
