This Colt™ 2 1/2 inch Lead Free Reduced Pressure Detector Backflow Preventer Assembly is designed to protect potable water systems from contamination by preventing the reverse flow of fire protection substances and non-potable water due to backsiphonage and backpressure.

The LFC500 series also monitors for unauthorized water use from the fire protection system, providing a comprehensive safety and security solution.

• Features a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology on the relief valve to detect excessive water discharges and potential flooding events.
• Integrated supervisory switch is an option on each gate valve of the OSY model.

Construction

• Housing and sleeve are manufactured from durable Type 304 (Schedule 40) stainless steel.
• Features groove fittings for integral pipeline adjustment.
• Contains two independent Link Check modules with reversible elastomer discs for drip-tight closure against reverse flow.
• Test cocks are bronze body, nickel plated.
• Elastomers include EPDM, silicone, and Buna-N.
• Utilizes a corrosive resistant bottom-mounted pressure relief valve.

NOTICE: An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without the connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component and will not communicate with any other device.
