Description

The FEBCO 3/4 inch Reduced Pressure Zone Backflow Preventer (825DBV) is engineered to safeguard potable water supplies from high-hazard cross-contamination. Featuring a bronze Y-pattern body, this assembly prevents backflow from toxic fluids in industrial, hospital, and irrigation systems. It operates with a modular relief valve, two spring-loaded check valves, and includes a passive flood detection sensor for enhanced monitoring. Rated for 175 PSI and temperatures from 32°F to 140°F, it offers low head loss and serviceable-in-line components for easy maintenance. Compliant with ASSE 1013, AWWA C511, and CSA B64.4 standards.

Help Me Connect

Connecting this backflow preventer:

  • This assembly features 3/4 inch NPT threaded end connections, designed to connect to matching 3/4 inch male NPT threaded piping.
  • The integral quarter-turn ball valves provide convenient shutoff for isolation during installation or maintenance.
  • An add-on sensor connection kit (sold separately) is required to activate the flood detection sensor feature for communication with BMS or cellular systems.

Additional Details

This 3/4 inch Y pattern reduced pressure zone backflow preventer assembly is designed to prevent the reverse flow of high hazard (toxic) fluids from entering the potable water supply. It is ideal for water services in industrial plants, hospitals, morgues, mortuaries, chemical plants, irrigation systems, boiler feed, and other installations requiring maximum protection.

WARNING: It is illegal to use this product in any plumbing system providing water for human consumption unless it is tested or disinfected. Before installing, consult your local water authority, building, and plumbing codes.

Operation & Protection

  • Automatically reduces pressure in the zone between check valves to at least 5 psi lower than inlet pressure.
  • If abnormal conditions cause a differential between upstream and zone to drop to 2 psi, the differential relief valve opens and discharges to maintain proper differential.
  • Designed to protect against cross-connection contamination from backsiphonage or backpressure.
  • Includes a flood detection sensor on the relief valve to detect excessive water discharges, providing user notification to facility personnel for corrective action.

Features

  • Bronze body with threaded NPT end connections.
  • Two independently operating, spring-loaded "Y" pattern check valves.
  • One hydraulically dependent differential relief valve.
  • Quarter turn ball valves and test cocks for shutoff.
  • Modular relief valve design for ease of maintenance.
  • All internal parts are serviceable in line.
  • Replaceable seat rings on all sizes for longer life.
  • Low head loss for optimum performance.
  • Flood sensor feature can be activated with an add-on sensor connection kit (not included).
