Installation Guidelines

  • This atmospheric vacuum breaker must be installed a minimum of 6 inches (152mm) above the highest point on the downstream piping to ensure proper function.
  • No shutoff valves should be installed downstream of this anti-siphon vacuum breaker.
  • This device is designed for low flow, non-continuous pressure applications. It must not be subjected to continuous pressure for more than twelve (12) hours per ASSE Std. 1001.
  • This vacuum breaker is not suitable for protection against backpressure backflow. For applications requiring backpressure protection, Watts Series LF909 or LF009 reduced pressure principle backflow preventers should be specified.
