Description

The 3 inch Colt C400 Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ) backflow preventer assembly is engineered to protect potable water supplies from contamination caused by backsiphonage and backpressure. Featuring a compact design, it utilizes Type 304 stainless steel for the housing and sleeve, non-rising stem (NRS) gate valves, and torsion spring check valves. An integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology detects excessive relief valve discharge, with add-on kits available for remote alerts. Approved for horizontal installation, this lead-free assembly ensures reliable protection with a maximum working pressure of 175 psi. Item number F0191289.

Help Me Connect

This 3 inch backflow preventer assembly is designed for horizontal installation in potable water systems. It features groove couplings for straightforward connection and alignment with existing piping. The non-rising stem gate valves control water flow, and the assembly includes Lead Free® bronze body test cocks for easy system testing and maintenance. To enable flood alert notifications, an add-on connection kit (sold separately) is required to integrate the flood sensor with building management systems (BMS), cellular networks, or the Nexa® platform via Wi-Fi or RS-485 Modbus.

Additional Details

The Colt™ 3 inch stainless steel Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ) Backflow Preventer Assembly is designed to prevent the reverse flow of contaminated water into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage or backpressure. This assembly is approved for horizontal installation and features an extremely compact design, making it lighter than traditional models.

This C400 series assembly includes a stainless steel body with a quick-access sleeve, torsion spring check valves, resilient seated non-rising stem (NRS) gate valves, and a corrosive-resistant stainless steel bottom-mounted pressure relief valve. It also incorporates a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharge from the relief valve, providing alerts for potential flooding events.

Key Features

  • Compact Design: Extremely compact and lighter than traditional backflow preventers.
  • Robust Construction: Type 304 (Schedule 40) stainless steel housing and sleeve for durability.
  • Easy Installation: Groove fittings facilitate simple pipe alignment and installation.
  • Advanced Check Modules: Patented link check design for lower pressure loss and unmatched ease of serviceability.
  • Flood Detection: Integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology for continuous monitoring of relief valve discharge.
  • Gate Valves: Non-rising stem (NRS) resilient seated gate valves.
  • Test Cocks: Lead Free® bronze body ball valve type test cocks.
  • Lead Free: Wetted surfaces contain less than 0.25% lead by weight.

Note: An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor's alert relay. Connection kit options include BMS, cellular communication, and the Sensor Control Monitor which enables integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.
