Additional Details

This Colt 3 inch reduced pressure detector backflow preventer assembly is designed to prevent the reverse flow of fire protection substances and non-potable water from being pumped or siphoned into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage or backpressure.

The compact, modular design features a 304 stainless steel body with a quick access sleeve and is approved for horizontal N pattern installation. It includes torsion spring check valves, grooved gear operated butterfly valves with tamper switches, test cocks, a corrosive-resistant bottom-mounted pressure relief valve, and a gallon per minute (GPM) meter to detect underground leaks and unauthorized water use.

The assembly incorporates a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve. When paired with an optional add-on connection kit, the sensor activates to relay alerts for potential flooding events, with integration options including BMS, cellular communication, RS-485 Modbus, or the Nexa® platform via Wi-Fi.

WARNING: It is illegal to use this product in a plumbing system providing water for human consumption, such as drinking or dishwashing, in the United States. Before installing, consult your local water authority, building, and plumbing codes.
