Additional Details
This 3 inch Lead Free MasterSeries Reduced Pressure Zone Detector Backflow Preventer Assembly is designed to protect potable drinking water systems against backpressure and backsiphonage conditions for high hazard/toxic fluids in industrial installations and applications.
Design & Protection
- Features a ductile iron body construction with patented ArmorTek® 3-part advanced epoxy coating system, engineered to reduce both microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and exposed metal substrate corrosion.
- Equipped with a stainless steel relief valve seat and stainless steel check components for maximum performance and durability.
- Includes a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve.
- The sensor can relay alerts for potential flooding events when paired with an add-on connection kit (BMS, cellular communication, or Sensor Control Monitor for integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi).
- Important: An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor. Without the connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component and will not communicate with other devices. The flood sensor does not replace the need for proper drainage or compliance with installation regulations.
Bypass Assembly & Connections
- Features a gallons per minute (GPM) metered bypass assembly to detect potential underground water leaks or unauthorized water usage.
- Supplied with domestic outside stem and yoke (OSY) shutoff valves and ball valve test cocks.
- Inline serviceable design allows for maintenance without special tools.
- Check modules feature replaceable stainless steel seats and reversible, replaceable discs.

FAQs
What is the primary purpose of the FEBCO MasterSeries LF866 backflow preventer?
Its primary purpose is to protect potable drinking water systems from contamination due to backpressure and backsiphonage conditions, especially in high hazard or toxic fluid applications.
Is an additional kit required for the flood sensor to function?
Yes, an add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor's alert capabilities. Without this kit, the sensor is a passive component and will not communicate or send alerts.
What is ArmorTek® coating, and what does it do?
ArmorTek® is a patented three-part advanced epoxy coating system applied to the ductile iron body. It is engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates from corrosion.
What is the maximum operating pressure for this assembly?
The maximum working pressure for this 3-inch assembly is 175 psi (12.1 bar).
What does the GPM metered bypass assembly detect?
The gallons per minute (GPM) metered bypass assembly is designed to detect potential underground water leaks or unauthorized water usage within the system.
