Additional Details

This 3 inch lead free MasterSeries® Double Check Detector Backflow Preventer Assembly is engineered to prevent the reverse flow of polluted water into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage and backpressure.

It is primarily used in fire protection systems to indicate system leakage or unauthorized water use, as well as on potable drinking water systems where local codes require protection from non-potable pollutants.

Main Valve Features

  • In-line serviceable assembly for easy maintenance.
  • Supports Horizontal N-pattern and Vertical U-Z-pattern installations.
  • No special tools required for servicing.
  • Features a captured modular spring assembly.
  • Includes reversible and replaceable discs.
  • Equipped with field replaceable seats.
  • Constructed with a ductile iron valve body.
  • Utilizes stainless steel check components.
  • Protected by ArmorTek coating technology to resist corrosion internally.
  • Features wye pattern bypass with disc retainers and valve body drain ports.
  • Commonality between 1st and 2nd check components.
  • Designed with a captured O-ring.

Auxiliary Bypass Features

  • Compact bypass design that remains within the main valve assembly profile.
  • Includes an in-line serviceable ¾" check assembly.
  • No special tools required for servicing.
  • Features a field replaceable seat and disc.
  • Designed to detect potential underground water leaks.
  • Capable of detecting unauthorized water usage.

The backflow preventer features ArmorTek®, a patented 3-part advanced epoxy coating system, which provides integrated protection against electrochemical corrosion and microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) for both internal and external surfaces. The wetted surface of this product contains less than 0.25% of lead by weight.
