Additional Details

The Watts 909RPDA 4 inch Reduced Pressure Detector Assembly is designed to protect potable water supplies from the reverse flow of fire protection system substances due to backsiphonage or backpressure. It is ideal for continuous pressure piping applications and cross-connections identified as health hazards.

This assembly comes without shutoff valves and includes a gallon per minute meter for detecting underground leaks and unauthorized water use.

Construction & Design

  • Features cast iron body construction with fused epoxy coating.
  • Utilizes ArmorTek coating technology to resist corrosion of internals, limiting microbial induced corrosion (MIC) and exposed metal substrate corrosion.
  • Incorporates captured spring check valves, replaceable stainless steel seats, and top mounted test cocks.
  • The air-in/water-out relief valve design provides maximum capacity during emergency conditions.
  • Designed for maximum flow at low pressure drop and offers design simplicity for easy maintenance.
  • Equipped with a 5/8" x 3/4" (16 x 19 mm) meter.

Flood Detection Features

  • Includes a sensor on the relief valve for flood detection.
  • Flood alerts are activated with an add-on sensor connection kit, compatible with BMS and cell network communication.
