This Colt™ 4 inch reduced pressure zone backflow preventer assembly is designed to prevent the reverse flow of fire protection substances and non-potable water into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage and/or backpressure.

It is ideal for protection in continuous pressure piping applications and at cross-connections identified as health hazards, approved for horizontal Z pattern installation when installed in accordance with the direction of the flow arrow.

Construction & Design

• Features an extremely compact design that is approximately 70% lighter than traditional designs, allowing for smaller enclosures.
• Constructed with a Type 304 (Schedule 40) stainless steel body and quick access sleeve for durability.
• Utilizes torsion spring check modules with a patented link check design for the lowest pressure loss and unmatched ease of serviceability.
• Includes resilient seated gate valves with non-rising stems (NRS), test cocks, and a bottom-mounted pressure relief valve.
• Groove couplings facilitate easy installation and pipe alignment.

Flood Sensor & Alerts

• Equipped with a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect continuous or excessive water discharges from the relief valve.
• When paired with an add-on connection kit (sold separately), the sensor is activated to relay alerts for potential flooding events.
• Connectivity options for the sensor include BMS, cellular communication, and the Sensor Control Monitor which integrates with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.
• Without an add-on connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component and will not communicate with other devices.
