Connections

  • The 4 inch grooved inlet and outlet connections are designed for easy installation and pipeline alignment with compatible grooved piping systems.

Flood Sensor Activation

  • To activate the flood sensor for remote alerts and communication with other devices, an add-on sensor connection kit is required (e.g., BMS, cellular, or Sensor Control Monitor for RS-485 Modbus/Nexa® Wi-Fi integration). Without this kit, the sensor acts as a passive component.

Additional Details

This Colt™ 4 inch Series C500 Reduced Pressure Detector Backflow Preventer Assembly is designed to prevent the reverse flow of fire protection substances and non-potable water into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage or backpressure. It is ideal for protecting against cross-connections identified as health hazards, such as in fire sprinkler systems and at the service line entrance.

The assembly includes an integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve, providing an early warning system for potential flooding.

Features

  • 4 inch stainless steel body with quick access sleeve and grooved end connections.
  • Two independent Link Check modules with patented link check for lowest pressure loss.
  • Two drip-tight domestic Outside Stem and Yoke (OSY) resilient seated gate valves.
  • Integrated supervisory switches on each gate valve (for OSY model).
  • Corrosion-resistant bottom-mounted cast stainless steel relief valve.
  • Flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect continuous discharge from the relief valve.
  • Metered bypass with a gallon per minute meter to detect leakage or unauthorized water use.
  • Lead-free bronze body nickel-plated test cocks.
  • Extremely compact design that is 70% lighter than traditional designs.
  • Unmatched ease of serviceability with replaceable check disc rubber.
  • A WARNING: It is illegal to use this product in a plumbing system providing water for human consumption, such as drinking or dishwashing, in the United States. Consult your local water authority, building, and plumbing codes before installing.
