Flood Sensor Connectivity

This backflow preventer features a SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve. To activate flood monitoring and relay alerts, an add-on connection kit is required. Without this kit, the sensor remains a passive component and will not communicate with external devices.

Connection Kit Options

  • BMS (Building Management System) integration via RS-485 Modbus.
  • Cellular Communication for remote alerts.
  • Sensor Control Monitor for Wi-Fi connectivity via the Nexa® platform.

A retrofit sensor connection kit is also available for existing installations.

Additional Details

This Colt™ 4 inch reduced pressure detector backflow preventer assembly is designed to prevent the reverse flow of non-potable water and fire protection substances into the potable water supply. It is ideal for protecting drinking water from dangerous cross-connections caused by backsiphonage or backpressure, such as in fire sprinkler systems and industrial processing lines.

WARNING: It is illegal to use this product in any plumbing system providing water for human consumption, such as drinking or dishwashing, in the United States. Consult your local water authority, building, and plumbing codes before installing.

The C500 series includes a flood sensor on the relief valve to detect excessive water discharges. When activated by an add-on connection kit, the sensor relays alerts for potential flooding events.
