FAQs

What is the primary function of this backflow preventer?

This reduced pressure detector assembly prevents the reverse flow of non-potable water or fire protection substances into the potable water supply, protecting against both backsiphonage and backpressure events.

What material is the main housing made from?

The entire valve body and closure sleeve are manufactured from 304 (Schedule 40) stainless steel, offering durability and corrosion resistance.

How does the flood sensor work?

The integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert technology detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve. When paired with an add-on connection kit (sold separately), it can relay alerts for potential flooding events.

What are the recommended installation patterns for this model?

This specific model is approved for horizontal N-pattern installation. Always consult local codes and the product's full installation instructions for specific requirements.

What is the maximum operating pressure and temperature range?

The maximum working pressure for this assembly is 175 PSI (12.1 bar). It operates effectively within a temperature range of 33°F to 140°F (0.5°C to 60°C).
