Additional Details
This 4 inch lead free MasterSeries® double check valve backflow preventer assembly is designed to prevent the backflow of polluted water from entering into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage and/or backpressure conditions. It is ideal for protection in continuous pressure piping applications and at cross-connections identified as non-health hazards.
Construction and Design
- This assembly features a fused epoxy ductile iron body with a patented ArmorTek® 3-part advanced epoxy coating system, engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrate.
- Includes domestic non-rising stem (NRS) resilient seated gate valves, top-mounted test cocks, and two in-line independent positive seating check modules.
- Designed for in-line serviceability with replaceable check discs and seats, requiring no special tools for servicing.
- Features a compact modular design for easy maintenance and a winterization feature with disc retainers and valve body drain ports.
- Lead Free* construction ensures compliance with low lead installation requirements.
Operation and Protection
- Specifically designed for non-health hazard (pollutant) applications to protect potable drinking water systems.
- Prevents backsiphonage and backpressure conditions as mandated by Local Governing Water Utility Code.
- The assembly incorporates stainless steel check components and a captured modular spring assembly for reliable performance.
Installation requires thorough reading of all instructions and product safety information. Inquire with governing authorities for local installation requirements prior to beginning installation.
