FAQs

What is the primary use of this backflow preventer?

This 4 inch FEBCO LF870W/WZ Double Check Valve Assembly is primarily used on potable drinking water systems to protect against possible backpressure and backsiphonage conditions for non-health hazard (pollutant) applications, as mandated by Local Governing Water Utility Code.

What does 'Lead Free' mean for this product?

The 'Lead Free' construction indicates that the wetted surface of this product, when contacted by consumable water, contains less than 0.25% of lead by weight. This complies with low lead installation requirements and state codes.

What is ArmorTek® coating technology?

ArmorTek® is a patented three-part advanced epoxy system applied to the iron components of the backflow preventer. It is engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates, enhancing the durability and lifespan of the assembly.

Can this backflow preventer be installed in both horizontal and vertical positions?

Yes, this assembly is approved for horizontal (N-pattern) and vertical-up (Z-pattern) installations, meeting the requirements of AWWA Standard C510 flow and pressure loss performance.

What is the maximum operating pressure for this assembly?

The maximum working pressure for the 4 inch LF870W Double Check Valve Assembly is 175 psi (12.1 bar).
