Description

The FEBCO MasterSeries LF870-WZ-LG is a 4 inch lead-free double check valve backflow preventer assembly. It is specifically designed to protect potable water systems from non-health hazard pollutants due to backsiphonage and backpressure. This Z-pattern model offers a longer lay-length for direct drop-in replacement of competitor valves. Constructed with a durable ductile iron body and ArmorTek powder coating for corrosion resistance, it features stainless steel check components and replaceable seats. Approved by FCCCHR-USC, ASSE 1015, UL, FM, IAPMO, AWWA C510, and NSF/ANSI 61-G, it operates up to 175 psi from 33°F to 140°F.

FAQs

What is the primary purpose of this backflow preventer?

This backflow preventer is designed to protect potable drinking water systems from non-health hazard (pollutant) contamination caused by backsiphonage and backpressure, in accordance with local governing water utility codes.

What is the "Z-pattern" design and why is it significant?

The Z-pattern design refers to the valve's configuration, allowing for vertical up installation. This specific LF870-WZ-LG model features a longer lay-length for direct drop-in replacement of existing competitor Z-pattern valves.

Is this product suitable for health hazard applications?

No, this double check valve assembly is specifically designed for non-health hazard (pollutant) applications. It protects against objectionable but non-toxic substances.

What materials are used in the construction of this valve?

The main valve body is ductile iron with ArmorTek powder coating. Internal components include stainless steel check seats, stainless steel disc holders, silicone elastomer discs, and stainless steel springs.

What are the key approvals and certifications for this assembly?

This assembly is approved by FCCCHR-USC, ASSE 1015, UL Classified (U.S. & Canada), FM Approved, IAPMO, AWWA Standard C510 Compliant, and NSF Certified to NSF/ANSI 61-G for lead-free construction.
