FAQs
What is the primary purpose of this backflow preventer assembly?
The primary purpose is to protect potable drinking water systems from contamination by polluted water due to backpressure or backsiphonage, specifically for non-health hazard (pollutant) applications.
What does "Lead Free" construction mean for this product?
"Lead Free" construction means that the wetted surfaces of this product, those that come into contact with consumable water, contain less than 0.25% of lead by weight, complying with low lead installation requirements.
What is ArmorTek® coating and why is it important?
ArmorTek® is a patented three-part advanced epoxy system that coats the iron components of the backflow preventer. It is engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates, enhancing the durability and lifespan of the assembly.
What are the approved installation orientations for this valve?
This valve assembly is approved for both horizontal N-pattern installations and vertical up Z-pattern installations.
What are the main materials used in the construction of this backflow preventer?
The main valve body is made of Ductile Iron Grade 65-45-12 with ArmorTek powder coating. Check seats, disc holders, and springs are stainless steel, while the elastomer discs are silicone.
