FAQs

What is the primary function of this backflow preventer?

This 4-inch FEBCO MasterSeries LF876W/WZ assembly prevents reverse flow of polluted water into the potable water supply caused by backsiphonage or backpressure, specifically for non-health hazard applications.

What kind of water systems is this assembly suitable for?

This backflow preventer is primarily used on potable drinking water systems and fire sprinkler systems where local codes mandate protection from non-potable quality water.

What material is the body made from, and what is ArmorTek coating?

The main valve body is constructed from Ductile Iron Grade 65-45-12. ArmorTek is a patented three-part advanced epoxy system engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal surfaces.

Does this assembly detect water leaks or unauthorized usage?

Yes, the auxiliary bypass line includes a 5/8 inch x 3/4 inch GPM water meter designed to detect potential underground water leaks or unauthorized water usage within the system.

What is the maximum working pressure and temperature range for this backflow preventer?

The maximum working pressure is 175 PSI (12.1 bar). The continuous operating temperature range is 33°F to 140°F (0.5°C to 60°C).
