Description

The 4 inch FEBCO MasterSeries LF876V Double Check Detector Assembly is a lead-free backflow preventer designed for non-health hazard potable water and fire sprinkler systems. It prevents backflow from backsiphonage and backpressure, providing indication of system leakage or unauthorized water use via its GPM metered bypass. Featuring a durable ductile iron body with ArmorTek® advanced epoxy coating for corrosion resistance, this assembly offers versatile N-Pattern (horizontal) or Z-Pattern (vertical) installation. It operates up to 175 psi in temperatures from 33°F to 140°F. Item number 0124478.

Additional Details

The 4 inch MasterSeries LF876V Double Check Detector Assembly is specifically designed to prevent the reverse flow of polluted water from entering into the potable supply due to backsiphonage or backpressure. It is primarily used on potable drinking water systems and fire sprinkler systems where local codes mandate protection from non-potable quality water being pumped or siphoned back into the potable water system.

The unit's lead-free construction means the wetted surface contacting consumable water contains less than 0.25% lead by weight.

Design and Construction

  • Features an epoxy coated ductile iron body with a patented ArmorTek® 3-part advanced epoxy coating system to limit both microbial induced (MIC) and exposed metal substrate corrosion.
  • Configurable design for both Horizontal (N-Pattern) and Vertical-Up (Z-Pattern) installations to reduce installation footprint and costs.
  • Consists of two in-line independent check valves with reversible and replaceable discs and field replaceable seats.
  • Includes ball valve test cocks and a gallons per minute (GPM) metered bypass to detect potential underground water leaks or unauthorized water usage.
  • Equipped with Outside Stem and Yoke (OSY) resilient seated domestic gate valves.
  • In-line serviceable assembly requires no special tools for servicing.

Before beginning installation, thoroughly read all installation instructions and product safety information. Inquire with governing authorities for local installation requirements.
