FAQs
What is the primary function of this backflow preventer?
This 4 inch Reduced Pressure Zone Backflow Preventer Assembly is designed to prevent the reverse flow of polluted water into the potable water supply, protecting against both backsiphonage and backpressure conditions.
Does this backflow preventer include shutoff valves?
No, this particular model (LF909LF NYC-FS) is supplied without shutoff valves, as indicated by its "No Shutoff" configuration.
What is ArmorTek® coating and what are its benefits?
ArmorTek® is a patented three-part advanced epoxy coating system applied to the cast iron body. It is engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates, enhancing the longevity of the assembly.
How does the flood sensor work and what is required to activate it?
The flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve. To activate its notification features, an add-on sensor connection kit is required, which is sold separately and is compatible with BMS and cellular networks.
What does "Lead Free" mean for this product?
"Lead Free" means that the wetted surface of this product, which comes into contact with consumable water, contains less than 0.25% of lead by weight, complying with Lead Free installation requirements.
