Description

This Maxim™ 4 inch reduced pressure zone backflow preventer assembly safeguards potable water systems from contamination due to backsiphonage and backpressure. Constructed with a durable 304 (Schedule 40) stainless steel housing and sleeve, it effectively prevents the reverse flow of non-potable water and fire protection substances. Its extremely compact and 70 percent lighter design, along with grooved gear operated butterfly shutoff valves and torsion spring check modules, ensures easy installation, serviceability, and reliable drip-tight performance for continuous pressure piping applications in a horizontal N pattern.

Help Me Connect

This 4 inch Maxim™ Reduced Pressure Zone Backflow Preventer Assembly is designed for horizontal N pattern installation. It features groove couplings for easy installation and pipe alignment to your existing system. When installing, ensure adequate clearance around the valve for inspection, testing, and servicing. A minimum 12-inch clearance is required between the relief valve of the assembly and the floor or grade.

The drain line should be protected from freezing, and normal discharge can be accommodated by using an Ames air gap fitting and a fabricated indirect waste line. Floor drains of the same size as the assembly should be provided for excessive discharge.
