  • This assembly utilizes groove couplings for easy installation and pipe alignment.
  • Approved for horizontal Z pattern installation, ensuring the backflow assembly is installed in accordance with the direction of the flow arrow.
  • Ensure adequate clearance around the valve for inspection, testing, and servicing. A 12 inch minimum clearance is recommended between the lower portion of the assembly and the floor or grade.
  • The valve should be protected from freezing.
  • Normal discharge and nuisance spitting can be accommodated by using an Ames air gap fitting and a fabricated indirect waste line, with floor drains of the same size provided in case of excessive discharge.

This Maxim™ 4 inch lead free reduced pressure zone backflow preventer assembly is designed to prevent the reverse flow of fire protection substances and non-potable water from being pumped or siphoned into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage and/or backpressure, in accordance with national plumbing codes and water authority requirements.

It is ideal for protection in continuous pressure piping applications and at cross-connections identified as health hazards and from other contaminants found at the service line entrance.
