The Ames Colt™ 6 inch lead free reduced pressure zone backflow preventer assembly is designed to prevent the reverse flow of fire protection substances and non-potable water into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage or backpressure.

This assembly is ideal for protection in continuous pressure piping applications and at cross-connections identified as health hazards, featuring a Z-pattern installation configuration and resilient seated OSY shutoff valves.

Flood Detection & Alerting

  • Includes a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect continuous discharge from the relief valve.
  • An add-on connection kit (sold separately) is required to activate the sensor and enable multichannel alerts (call, email, text).
  • Connection kit options include BMS, cellular communication, and the Sensor Control Monitor which enables integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.
  • Without the connection kit, the flood sensor is a passive component and will not communicate with any other device. Proper drainage must be provided in the event of a discharge. Watts® is not responsible for alert failures due to connectivity issues, power outages, or improper installation.
