Connections

  • This assembly utilizes groove fittings for easy installation and integral pipeline adjustment.

Flood Sensor Activation & Monitoring

The integrated flood sensor requires an add-on connection kit to activate its alert capabilities. Without this kit, the sensor operates as a passive component and will not communicate with external devices. Connection kit options include:

  • Building Management Systems (BMS) integration
  • Cellular communication
  • Sensor Control Monitor for integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.

Additional Details

This Colt™ 6 inch reduced pressure detector backflow preventer assembly (RPDA) is designed to prevent the reverse flow of fire protection substances and non-potable water into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage or backpressure. This assembly is suitable for health-hazard non-potable service applications such as irrigation, fire line, or industrial processing.

This compact modular design is approved for horizontal Z pattern installation and features a 304 (Schedule 40) stainless steel body with a quick access sleeve. It includes torsion spring check valves, grooved gear operated butterfly valves with tamper switch, test cocks, and a corrosive resistant bottom mounted pressure relief valve. A cubic feet per minute meter is furnished to detect underground leaks and unauthorized water use. This backflow assembly contains a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve, which can relay alerts for potential flooding events when paired with an add-on connection kit.

WARNING: It is illegal to use this product in a plumbing system providing water for human consumption, such as drinking or dishwashing, in the United States. Before installing this product, consult your local water authority, building, and plumbing codes.
