Connection and Installation
- This FEBCO MasterSeries LF870W Double Check Valve Assembly is specifically designed for drop-in replacement of a competitor's valves in either the N-pattern (LF870W) or Z-pattern (LF870WZ) orientation.
- The LF870W model is configured for N-pattern installations, meaning inlet flow vertical up and outlet flow vertical down.
- It is installed on the potable water supply at points of cross-connection to protect against backpressure and backsiphonage conditions in non-health hazard (pollutant) applications.
- End connections are compliant to ASME B16.1 Class 125 & AWWA Class D Flange.

FAQs
What is the primary purpose of this double check valve assembly?
This assembly is designed to prevent the backflow of polluted water from non-health hazard (pollutant) sources into the potable drinking water supply due to backsiphonage or backpressure conditions.
What is 'ArmorTek coating technology'?
ArmorTek is a patented three-part advanced epoxy system applied to the iron components. It is engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates, extending the product's lifespan.
Does 'Lead Free' mean there is no lead in this product?
For this product, 'Lead Free*' means that the wetted surfaces, which come into contact with consumable water, contain less than 0.25% of lead by weight, in compliance with low lead installation requirements.
Can this assembly replace other brands' backflow preventers?
Yes, it is specifically designed with a longer gate-to-gate length for drop-in replacement of competitor N-pattern valves, making it a convenient solution for upgrading or replacing existing units.
What are the recommended operating pressure and temperature conditions?
This valve is designed for continuous operation within a temperature range of 33°F to 140°F (0.5°C to 60°C). It has a maximum working pressure of 175 psi (12.1 bar).
