Description

The 6-inch FEBCO MasterSeries LF870W is a lead-free double check valve backflow preventer assembly, designed for non-health hazard (pollutant) applications. It protects potable water systems from backsiphonage and backpressure, ensuring safety at cross-connections. Featuring a ductile iron body with patented ArmorTek® epoxy coating, it offers superior resistance to microbial-induced and exposed metal substrate corrosion. This N-pattern assembly provides drop-in replacement compatibility and in-line serviceability without special tools. With a maximum working pressure of 175 psi, it is ASSE 1015, UL Classified, FM Approved, IAPMO, AWWA C510, and NSF/ANSI 61-G compliant.

Help Me Connect

This 6 inch LF870W Double Check Valve Assembly is designed for horizontal N-pattern installations on the potable water supply. Its flanged end connections are compliant with ASME B16.1 Class 125 and AWWA Class D Flange standards. The assembly's longer gate-to-gate length is engineered for drop-in replacement of comparable N-pattern backflow preventer valves.

It protects cross-connections against backsiphonage and backpressure in non-health hazard (pollutant) applications. Installation should adhere to local governing authority codes.

Additional Details

This 6 inch lead free MasterSeries® double check valve backflow preventer assembly (Model LF870W) is designed for non-health hazard (pollutant) applications to prevent backflow into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage and/or backpressure. It is ideal for protection of non-health hazard cross-connections or for containment at the service line entrance.

Design & Construction

  • Features a longer gate-to-gate length for drop-in replacement of competitor N-pattern valves.
  • Constructed with an epoxy coated ductile iron body and flanged end connections.
  • Includes two independent clapper style check valves with replaceable stainless steel seats and disc rubbers.
  • Equipped with four properly located resilient seated test cocks as specified by AWWA Standard C510.
  • Designed for in-line servicing without requiring special tools.

Corrosion Protection

  • Iron components are coated with ArmorTek®, a patented three-part advanced epoxy system.
  • ArmorTek® coating technology protects internal and external surfaces against microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and exposed metal substrate corrosion.

Lead Free Compliance

  • Lead Free* construction ensures the wetted surface of this product contacted by consumable water contains less than 0.25% of lead by weight.
  • Complies with state codes and standards requiring reduced lead content.

FAQs

What is the primary application of this 6 inch LF870W backflow preventer?

This backflow preventer is specifically designed for non-health hazard (pollutant) applications. It prevents the backflow of objectionable but non-toxic substances into potable water systems due to backsiphonage or backpressure.

What does 'Lead Free' mean for this product?

Lead Free construction for this product means that the wetted surface contacted by consumable water contains less than 0.25% of lead by weight. This complies with low lead installation requirements and state codes.

What is ArmorTek® coating, and what are its benefits?

ArmorTek® is a patented three-part advanced epoxy coating system applied to the iron components. It is engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect exposed metal substrates, extending the lifespan of the assembly.

Can this backflow preventer assembly be serviced easily?

Yes, this 6 inch LF870W assembly is designed for in-line servicing without requiring any special tools. The check modules can be accessed through independent top entry covers.

What are the compatible end connections for this backflow preventer?

The flanged end connections on this backflow preventer are compliant with ASME B16.1 Class 125 and AWWA Class D Flange standards. It is designed for horizontal N-pattern installations on the potable water supply.
