Additional Details

This 6 inch lead free FEBCO MasterSeries® LF876W/WZ Double Check Detector Backflow Preventer Assembly is designed to prevent the reverse flow of polluted water into the potable water supply due to backpressure or backsiphonage. It is primarily used on potable drinking water systems and fire sprinkler systems to protect against non-health hazard (pollutant) conditions and can detect system leakage or unauthorized water use.

This assembly features a longer lay-length for drop-in replacement of competitor’s N-pattern valves and comes without shutoff valves.

Construction & Features

  • Ductile iron body construction with ArmorTek® 3-part advanced epoxy coating system to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect against electrochemical corrosion.
  • Two in-line independent check valves with replaceable stainless steel check seats and silicone elastomer discs.
  • Bypass line includes a gallons per minute (GPM) metered bypass and ball valve test cocks to detect potential underground water leaks or unauthorized water usage.
  • In-line serviceable assembly requires no special tools for maintenance.
  • Lead free construction, with wetted surface containing less than 0.25% lead by weight.
  • Approved for horizontal and/or vertical-up installations.
  • Captured modular spring assembly and field replaceable seats.
  • Commonality between 1st and 2nd check components simplifies maintenance.

FAQs

What type of water systems is this backflow preventer suitable for?

This backflow preventer is suitable for potable drinking water systems and fire sprinkler systems, protecting against non-health hazard (pollutant) backpressure and backsiphonage conditions.

What does "Lead Free" mean for this product?

"Lead Free" indicates that the wetted surface of this product, which comes into contact with consumable water, contains less than 0.25% of lead by weight.

Can this assembly be installed in different orientations?

Yes, the FEBCO MasterSeries LF876W/WZ assembly is approved for both horizontal and vertical-up installations, providing flexibility for various plumbing configurations.

What is the purpose of the GPM metered bypass?

The gallons per minute (GPM) metered bypass is designed to detect potential underground water leaks within the system or unauthorized water usage, providing valuable monitoring capabilities.

What is ArmorTek® coating and why is it important?

ArmorTek® is a patented three-part advanced epoxy system applied to the ductile iron components. It is engineered to reduce microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) and protect against electrochemical corrosion, extending the lifespan of the backflow preventer.
