Help Me Connect
The Watts 6 inch LF957RPDA Reduced Pressure Detector Assembly features 150 pound ANSI/AWWA Class D flanged end connections on its UL Classified and FM Approved outside stem and yoke (OSY) shutoff valves. The main backflow preventer body connects to the system via groove fittings, allowing for integral pipeline adjustment. To activate the built-in flood sensor for alert capabilities, an add-on sensor connection kit is required. These kits provide compatibility with Building Management Systems (BMS), cellular networks, and enable integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.

Additional Details
The Watts 6 inch Lead Free Reduced Pressure Detector Backflow Preventer Assembly, Series LF957RPDA, protects potable water systems from contamination due to backpressure or backsiphonage, particularly in health hazard applications. This assembly also monitors for unauthorized water use from fire protection systems and includes a flood sensor to detect excessive water discharges.
Key Features
- Lead Free Construction: Wetted surfaces contain less than 0.25% lead by weight, complying with Lead Free* installation requirements.
- Compact and Lightweight Design: Extremely compact and up to 70% lighter than traditional designs, allowing for installation in smaller enclosures.
- Flood Sensor with SentryPlus Alert Technology: Detects continuous discharge from the relief valve and, when activated with an add-on connection kit, relays alerts to facility personnel.
- Durable Construction: Features 304 (Schedule 40) stainless steel housing and sleeve for corrosion resistance.
- Efficient Check Valves: Two independent torsion spring check modules provide the lowest pressure loss and drip-tight closure against reverse flow. They feature reversible elastomer discs and replaceable check disc rubber for unmatched ease of serviceability.
- OSY Shutoff Valves: Includes UL Classified and FM Approved 150 pound ANSI/AWWA Class D flanged outside stem and yoke resilient seated gate valves.
- Cubic Feet Meter: Integrated bypass assembly with a meter to detect underground leaks and unauthorized water use.
- Bottom Mounted Relief Valve: Reduces clearance requirements, allowing for installation against outside walls.
- Groove Fittings: Allow for integral pipeline adjustment.
An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor's communication features. Without the kit, the sensor is a passive component. Watts is not responsible for alert failures due to connectivity issues, power outages, or improper installation.
