The Colt™ 6 inch Lead Free Reduced Pressure Detector Backflow Preventer Assembly provides protection to potable water systems by preventing the reverse flow of fire protection substances and non-potable water due to backsiphonage or backpressure. It is ideal for use in health-hazard applications, such as on fire sprinkler systems and at service line entrances.

Construction & Features

• Extremely compact design, up to 70% lighter than traditional designs, offering unmatched ease of serviceability with no special tools required for servicing.
• Constructed with a Type 304 (Schedule 40) stainless steel housing and sleeve.
• Includes two independent Link Check modules with reversible elastomer discs and a patented design for lowest pressure loss and drip-tight closure.
• Features domestic outside stem and yoke (OSY) resilient seated gate valves with drip-tight shutoff.
• Equipped with a corrosive-resistant bottom-mounted pressure relief valve and test cocks.
• A cubic feet per minute (CFM) bypass meter detects underground leaks and unauthorized water use from the fire sprinkler system.
• Lead Free* construction ensures compliance with installation requirements.

Flood Detection & Alerting

• Contains a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology to detect excessive water discharges from the relief valve.
• An add-on sensor connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor for relaying alerts for potential flooding events.
• Integrates with the Sensor Control Monitor to deliver maintenance alerts to Building Automation Systems (BAS) via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi connectivity when paired with a connection kit.
• The OS&Y model includes an option for an integrated supervisory switch on each gate valve.
