Description

The 6 inch Colt LFC500 Lead Free Reduced Pressure Detector Assembly safeguards potable water systems from contamination by backsiphonage and backpressure, ideal for fire sprinkler systems. This compact unit features a durable Type 304 stainless steel body, OSY shutoff valves, and a bottom-mounted relief valve. A flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology detects excessive discharges, communicating alerts via an add-on connection kit to BMS, cellular, Modbus, or Wi-Fi platforms. It includes a cubic feet per minute meter for leak detection and operates up to 175 psi within a 33°F to 110°F range. Item number F0124636.

Help Me Connect

The Colt LFC500 Reduced Pressure Detector Assembly is designed for installation in potable water systems, typically in health-hazard cross-connections like fire sprinkler systems. It is supplied with Outside Stem and Yoke (OSY) resilient seated gate valves for secure inlet and outlet connections. The integrated flood sensor requires an add-on connection kit to become active and communicate alerts. These kits allow for integration with various systems:

  • Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Cellular Communication
  • Sensor Control Monitor for integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi

This assembly provides grooved inlet and outlet gate connections for straightforward pipeline integration.

Additional Details

The 6 inch Colt LFC500 Lead Free Reduced Pressure Detector Assembly is designed to protect potable water systems from contamination due to backsiphonage and backpressure, particularly in fire protection applications. This assembly also monitors for unauthorized water use from the fire protection system and detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve.

Construction & Design

  • Features an extremely compact design and is 70% lighter than traditional designs.
  • The entire valve body and closure sleeve are manufactured from Type 304 (Schedule 40) stainless steel.
  • Includes two torsion spring check valves and drip tight shutoff valves.
  • Equipped with outside stem and yoke (OSY) resilient seated gate valves for reliable shutoff.
  • A corrosive resistant bottom-mounted pressure relief valve is included.
  • The bypass assembly comes with a cubic feet per minute meter for detecting underground leaks and unauthorized water use.
  • Patented link check design minimizes pressure loss.
  • Unmatched ease of serviceability with replaceable check disc rubber.

Flood Detection & Alerting

  • Contains a flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert® technology on the relief valve to detect continuous discharge.
  • When paired with an add-on sensor connection kit, the flood sensor is activated to relay alerts for potential flooding events.
  • Connection kit options allow for integration with Building Management Systems (BMS), cellular communication, and the Sensor Control Monitor.
  • The Sensor Control Monitor enables integration with BAS via RS-485 Modbus or the Nexa® platform through Wi-Fi.
  • Notice: An add-on connection kit is required to activate the flood sensor for communication. Without it, the flood sensor is a passive component and will not communicate with any other device.
