FAQs
What is the primary purpose of the Maxim M200N double check valve assembly?
Its primary purpose is to prevent backflow of pollutants, specifically non-potable water and fire protection substances, from entering the potable water supply system due to backsiphonage or backpressure.
What type of hazards is this backflow preventer designed to protect against?
This assembly is designed for use in non-health hazard applications, protecting against pollutants that are objectionable but not toxic, such as those found in high flow fire systems.
What materials are used in the construction of this assembly?
The housing and sleeve are constructed of 304 (Schedule 40) Stainless Steel. It uses EPDM, Silicone, and Buna 'N' for elastomers, Noryl® and Stainless Steel for the Tri-Link Checks, and Lead Free* Bronze for test cocks.
What are the maximum operating pressure and temperature for this device?
The Maxim M200N has a maximum working pressure of 175 PSI (12.06 bar) and an operating temperature range of 33°F to 110°F (0.5°C – 43°C).
What kind of shutoff valves does the M200N model utilize?
This specific M200N model comes with Non-Rising Stem (NRS) resilient seated gate shutoff valves.
