FAQs

What is the primary use of this 8 inch backflow preventer?

This backflow preventer is primarily used to protect potable water supplies from dangerous cross-connections, preventing the reverse flow of non-potable water or fire protection substances due to backsiphonage or backpressure. It is ideal for fire sprinkler systems and industrial processing.

What material is the main body of this assembly made from?

The main body housing and sleeve of this backflow preventer assembly are constructed from durable 304 (Schedule 40) stainless steel.

How does the integrated flood sensor work?

The integrated SentryPlus Alert® flood sensor detects excessive water discharges from the relief valve. To activate its alert capabilities, an add-on sensor connection kit is required, which then enables relaying signals for potential flooding.

What are the temperature and pressure limits for this device?

This backflow preventer is designed to operate within a temperature range of 33°F to 140°F (0.5°C to 60°C) and has a maximum working pressure of 175 psi (12.1 bar).

What connection types does this assembly use for installation?

This assembly utilizes groove fittings for its connections, which facilitate integral pipeline adjustment and ease of installation into compatible piping systems.
